Kepstar Data Centre Management Breaks Ground for the Construction of its Data Centre Building

Phnom Penh, 11 November 2022: Kepstar Data Centre Management, a Cambodia-based data centre developer and operator, today officially breaks ground for the construction of the Kingdom’s first Tier III Data Centre to serve as a key asset to capture the rapid growth in demand for digital infrastructure as well as to contribute to the transformation of the country to become a Smart Digital Nation.

The official groundbreaking ceremony coincided with the Cambodia Tech Expo – CTX 2022, that is being held starting today (from 11-13 November 2022) by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center and Factory Phnom Penh as well as a side event of the ASEAN Summit 2022. This year’s theme focuses on “Addressing Challenges through Tech Talents”. Kepstar is very honoured to be part of this expo and to be its Diamond Sponsor.

The data centre facility will be built with an aim to fortify Cambodia’s digital ecosystem and infrastructure in order to attract local and global businesses. The data centre will provide space to the government and private companies, especially financial institutions, for secure data storage in compliance with all international requirements.

Kepstar will offer products and solutions that are in the line with Cambodia’s Industry 4.0 and the government’s digital economic policy to promote digital innovation and development of sustainable technologies.

Kepstar’s Chairman, Andy Chee, said: “The data centre will play a significant role in contributing towards the development of digital infrastructure technologies for the Cambodian government’s vision to leapfrog into the digital economy. Moreover, he said that the data centre will play an important role in attracting investors as it will provide Cambodia with reliable critical data storage capabilities. In addition, the data centre serves to enhance cyber security, as well as facilitate electronic payments and transactions.

Kepstar is excited to announce the two collaborations that the company recently participated with, the first is the MoU signing with Huawei (Cambodia). This partnership focuses on the innovative Data Center Solutions and other data center services. The second is the partnership with Mobile C&C (Cambodia) with the focus on providing integrated mobile payment platform operation that will help customers achieve business objectives.

Cambodia is moving to be at par with its neighboring countries in terms of preparation for the Industry 4.0 through building the necessary infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, efficiency and by having state-of-the-art technology to handle its data.
